Students will be introduced to network management and visibility using the Extreme Networks management tool, Extreme Cloud IQ-Site Engine (XIQ-SE). Using the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) Network Management Model (NMM), students have these concepts reinforced with a hands-on lab experience working with a pre-configured network. Students will perform real world tasks around the areas of installation and basic configuration of XIQ-SE. Network visibility of devices and device configuration tools are discussed.

• This course is designed as the first step for individuals responsible for the installation and the configuration of the Extreme Cloud IQ-Site Engines.

This course is a mandatory prerequisite for all XIQ-SE courses. The XIQ-SE courses are recommended to be taken in the following order: Installation and Configuration, Management, Advanced Configuration, and Troubleshooting. Students should possess an understanding of network fundamentals, and general network management concepts, as well as network security concepts and technologies.
